About the role

As a Purchasing Executive at EPICON BERHAD, you will support our procurement operations within the construction sector. This full-time, on-site role based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, involves managing purchasing activities, supplier coordination, and inventory control to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services for our projects. Your efforts will contribute to smooth site operations and project efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Source new suppliers and improve relationships with existing ones to secure better deals.
2. Obtain building materials and services of the required quality and quantity.
3. Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
4. Review purchase requisitions and determine appropriate purchasing methods.
5. Obtain quotations from at least three suppliers for comparison before issuing purchase orders.
6. Coordinate with suppliers to obtain building colour schemes for painting jobs.
7. Arrange laboratory tests such as CBR and coring tests on-site.
8. Procure supply and installation services for sign plates, construction boards, and road signs.
9. Negotiate payment terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
10. Liaise with suppliers and site supervisors to address unacceptable goods or services and take corrective actions.
11. Monitor delivery schedules and follow up on undelivered goods.
12. Prepare monthly reports for management, including:

• Aging report for invoices exceeding RM100,000.00.
• Monthly purchase order list.
• Material price comparison report.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in purchasing.
• Strong sourcing and analytical skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Meticulous with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently, and meet deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and time management skills.
• Strong mathematical abilities.
