Job summary

A leading engineering and construction firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Executive/Engineer. You will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement documentation, and ensuring supplier performance. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related fields and 5-7 years of experience in procurement within the construction or engineering industries. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex industrial projects, including cleanrooms and semiconductor facilities.

Job description

At VC Engineering, you'll work on some of Malaysia's most sophisticated industrial projects—from semiconductor fabs to pharmaceutical cleanrooms and data centers. We specialize in engineering and construction for clients who demand precision, and we need an experienced Senior Procurement Executive/Engineer to help us deliver.

What You’ll Do:

Lead sourcing, evaluation and negotiation with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors for company projects.

Prepare, review and issue purchase orders, subcontract agreements and procurement documentation in line with project requirements.

Manage supplier performance to ensure quality compliance, timely delivery and technical conformance.

Develop and maintain approved vendor lists, supplier databases, market intelligence and cost benchmarks.

Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers and quantity surveyors to align procurement activities with project schedules and budgets.

Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual terms and regulatory requirements.

Plan and coordinate logistics, delivery schedules and material tracking to avoid project delays.

Monitor and report procurement costs, savings initiatives, supplier KPIs and procurement risks.

Assist in resolving procurement-related issues including delays, non-conformance and commercial disputes.

Drive continuous improvement, cost optimization and value engineering initiatives.

What you bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.

5–7 years’ experience in procurement within construction and engineering related industries.

Proven experience handling procurement for MEP systems, cleanroom or industrial construction projects.

Strong knowledge of supplier sourcing, contract terms, pricing strategies and procurement best practices.

Good understanding of construction materials, equipment and long-lead items.

Able to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
