- Evaluate insurance applications and determine risk levels based on company guidelines.
- Analyse data to assess potential risks and recommend appropriate terms and conditions for coverage.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Skills
Education
The Underwriter will assess and analyse insurance applications to determine coverage and risk levels. This role requires a strong understanding of the insurance industry and a meticulous approach to evaluating policies, especially within Property line or Energy and Power line.
- Evaluate insurance applications and determine risk levels based on company guidelines.
- Analyse data to assess potential risks and recommend appropriate terms and conditions for coverage.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for underwriting decisions.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members in the underwriting process.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes and standards.
- Educational background in engineering, finance, business, or a related field.
- Underwriting experience in insurance, reinsurance or brokerage firm is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven knowledge of the insurance industry and underwriting principles.
- Attention to detail and ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Open to non-Malaysians.
