A leading manufacturing company in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Head of Manufacturing Engineering to lead the engineering division. You will bridge the R&D team and Japanese HQ, driving product innovation and cost efficiency. Candidates should possess a degree in Engineering, at least 5-8 years of experience, and strong leadership skills. Proficiency in Japanese is essential for liaising with management. This is an opportunity to enhance engineering capabilities while ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Job Overview: Leading the Engineering Division for a top-tier Manufacturing MNC. You will bridge the technical gap between the R&D team and Japanese HQ, driving cost efficiency and product innovation.
Strategic Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team. Conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs to upgrade technical competencies.
R&D & Design Authority: Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) and market trend research. Act as the final approver for technical drawings, design specifications, and software/tooling acquisitions.
Cost & Project Management: Take full ownership of project costing, budgeting, and revenue monitoring. Ensure all designs are delivered at a competitive cost without compromising quality or schedule.
Quality & Compliance: Formulate and enforce Company Quality Policy and ISO 9001 standards across all projects.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise directly with Japanese management (requires Japanese proficiency) and ensure customer specifications are met.
Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics preferred).
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in a related field, with strong leadership capabilities.
Able to liaise effectively with Japanese management and review technical documents (Japanese proficiency required).
Strong acumen in project cost control and resource planning.
