Job summary
A leading technology firm in Johor Bahru is seeking a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to support and optimize its hybrid infrastructure. You will manage cloud services, VMware environments, and Dell hardware support, focusing on improving efficiency and security. This role requires at least 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure or Cloud Engineering, with strong knowledge of AWS and VMware. About the Role:
As a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and optimizing our hybrid infrastructure, which includes cloud services and on-premises systems. You will work on deploying and maintaining cloud environments, managing VMware virtualization, and providing Dell hardware support. This position requires strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to improving infrastructure efficiency and security.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud services (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud) under established architecture guidelines.
- Manage and optimize VMware virtualization environments, including provisioning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Provide Dell server hardware support, including installation, configuration, firmware updates, and diagnostics.
- Assist with cloud migration projects and hybrid infrastructure integration.
- Implement security best practices across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve infrastructure issues.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash).
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems and processes.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on infrastructure improvements and new technology adoption.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure or Cloud Engineering roles.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS or Azure services.
- Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization (vSphere, ESXi).
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Experience with Dell server hardware (installation, troubleshooting, lifecycle management).
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs).
- Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
- Understanding of security principles and compliance standards.
- Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, VMware VCP, or Dell hardware certifications are a plus.
