A leading technology firm in Malaysia is searching for an experienced project manager to oversee project management functions and deliver successful IT projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, along with 5-7 years of experience in project management, especially in software development processes. Strong communication, analytical skills, and certification in PMP or PRINCE2 are preferred. Candidates must be proficient in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Oversee the overall project management function, coordinating PMO processes and leveraging support from the project office.
Directly manage post-production change requests, initiatives, projects, and programs.
Oversee the end-to-end project management lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and project closure, along with software delivery and post-implementation processes.
Ensure compliance with the organization’s project management standards and guidelines.
Conduct regular assessments to ensure adherence to project management standards.
Track, monitor, and document all project milestones and deliverables.
Ensure all project deliverables meet or exceed CMMI standards.
Develop comprehensive project documentation in line with the organization’s project management methodology.
Ensure detailed documentation of project plans to serve all relevant stakeholders.
Lead and manage internal resources, as well as third-party vendors, to ensure flawless project execution.
Participate in vendor management strategies for selected outsourced projects.
Contribute to defining project management standards and best practices across the organization.
Qualification: Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent.
Possessing a valid PMP or PRINCE2 certification is an added advantage.
Required skill(s): Strong knowledge of the end-to-end project management lifecycle, IT project management, and project portfolio management. Well‑versed in CMMI methodology, with advanced proficiency in MS Office (particularly Word and Excel), and in‑depth expertise in MS Project and Visio.
Key quality(s): Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, patient and detail‑oriented, with good report writing capabilities.
Required language(s): English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Desired experience/exposure: Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in implementing delivery process improvements using PMBOK as the framework for project management. Over 5 years of experience managing software development projects.
