Responsibilities
- Maintain the order and safety of the hotel.
- Offer necessary service to guests.
- Conduct regular safety patrols, act and report appropriately upon discovering any potential hazards.
- Operate fire control equipment and manage communication facilities.
- Report, examine and monitor suspicious personnel or articles, keeping a record of incidents.
Security Officer – Staff Entrance
- Ensure external visitor registration forms are completed correctly.
- Be hospitable to visitors and report suspicions to Management.
- Conduct random bag inspections of team members entering and leaving the building, ensuring the Asset Removal Policy is adhered to.
- Prevent items such as flammable or explosive materials, corrosives, drugs, hazardous tools, liquor, or items labeled identically to the hotel’s property from being brought in.
- Detain and record items with the same branding as the hotel’s property, noting the name and employee number of the staff involved.
- Prevent removal of hotel property without an authorized and signed Gate-Pass.
- Write off Gate-Pass forms once lent articles are returned.
- Implement payment for damaged items and provide the invoice for purchase or refund.
- Keep deposited keys in good condition and follow key-lent procedures.
Security Officer – Lobby
- Familiarize with all restaurants, locations and hours to direct guests efficiently.
- Assist guests in elevators and help select levels; assist around 10 guests at a time.
- Specially assist elderly, children and the disabled.
- Be alert for drunk or incapacitated individuals and monitor accompanying persons.
- Monitor for individuals engaging in pornography or other illegal activities.
- Inform CCTV and relevant departments to monitor suspicious people entering elevators to prevent unauthorized access to rooms.
- Discourage guests from bringing pets into the hotel area.
- Implement regulations of local public security authorities and guide unauthorized visitors to the Front Desk to obtain guest consent and complete a Visitor Registration Form.
- Advise visitors to remain in guest rooms between 23:00 and 08:00.
- Ensure commercial photography on hotel premises has clearance from Marketing & Communications; otherwise direct them to the relevant department.
- Inform Duty Manager and Front Desk to register found belongings with Housekeeping if applicable.
- Dissuade guests from removing hotel property to prevent loss in public areas.
- Pay attention to individuals who come in with empty hands or bags and leave with bags.
- Monitor the corridor of the 2F Banquet ballrooms and remind guests not to leave children to play along banisters.
Patrolling Responsibilities
- Follow patrol route and schedule, monitor personnel, hotel equipment, and fire/safety facilities.
- Report potential threats or discrepancies.
- Inspect key areas such as machine room, distribution room, kitchen, fire control corridor, storage areas, and firefighting equipment.
- Check that backend office doors are locked after team members leave; assist if needed.
- Inspect locker rooms and team restrooms; prohibit noise, gambling, smoking, and storage of inflammable/explosive items or strong odors.
- Manage issues encountered during duty and report promptly to the duty supervisor or Assistant Safety & Security Manager.
- Check fire facilities, fire security, and fire alarm systems; be familiar with first aid and fire emergency procedures.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned and note that Management reserves the right to modify the job description at any time.
Qualifications
- High School or Secondary Vocational School graduate.
- Proficient with hotel security operations.
- Strong sense of responsibility and service.
- Good work attitude and alertness.
- Effective and clear communication skills.
- Knowledge of resources and ability to use them efficiently.
- English literacy to meet business needs is preferred.
