This organisation is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to play a key role in developing advanced software for high-performance equipment used in a complex engineering environment. The role involves driving the full software development lifecycle—from planning and design to implementation, testing, and delivery—while ensuring every release meets stringent quality, stability, and customer-specific requirements.

The engineer will collaborate closely with cross‑functional hardware, electrical, and mechanical teams to design seamless software–hardware integrations and ensure optimal system performance. They will also be responsible for writing technical specifications, preparing documentation, conducting unit testing, and supporting deployment activities.

Beyond development work, this role contributes to team excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, refinement of coding standards, and expanding test automation coverage. Knowledge sharing is essential, with responsibilities that include mentoring juniors, providing technical training, conducting post‑mortems, and documenting best practices to strengthen organisational learning.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver who can lead by example, communicate clearly, drive improvements, and thrive in a dynamic engineering environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering (Computer, Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronic/Electromechanical), or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in software development or the machine automation industry.
• Strong programming skills in PLC, C#, or C++, with solid understanding of OOP or non‑OOP principles. Experience with firmware or RTOS is an added advantage.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
• Capable of adapting to changing priorities and diverse working environments.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with motors, sensors, actuators, or hardware‑related development is an advantage.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning, improvement, and problem‑solving.

• Based in Melaka, with optional placement in Penang depending on product line (Relocation Allowance Provided).
