Overview

A Snapshot of Your Day

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work with customers for large volume, long term and transactional service projects representing Siemens Energy Generation Service business? The commercial sales team, responsible for the region Asia Pacific, is looking for an experienced commercial professional to handle complex long-term service or transactional tenders from a commercial perspective.

In this role you will be responsible for managing all commercial and financial topics throughout the whole sales/bid process, mainly for transactional tenders with a primary focus on the Bangladesh market but also for other countries within the Asia Pacific region. You will be responsible for the preparation and negotiation of the commercial and financial terms and conditions. You will also lead negotiations with the support of the legal team. You will interact with a very diverse and international team within the Asia Pacific region and the Headquarter. In addition to daily commercial sales operations you will contribute to the regular forecast and budget process cycles to predict related key performance indicators such as Revenue, Gross Margin and cash for new orders.

What You’ll Make An Impact
  • Analyze customer requirements and evaluation criteria to develop winning strategies in collaboration with the Sales Manager, focusing primarily on transactional business opportunities
  • Assess market conditions and competitor pricing to inform commercial decisions
  • Design business models that align with customer needs, business objectives, and tax regulations
  • Oversee all commercial aspects of bids, including contract analysis, cost calculations, financing structures, currency and hedging strategies, risk and opportunity assessments, bonds, payment terms, credit ratings, insurance, export control, and compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as customers and consortium partners
  • Prepare and present tenders during the offer release process at the required escalation levels, acting as a sparring partner for regional teams and bid members
  • Lead negotiations of commercial terms and consortium contracts, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines and coordination with departments such as Legal, SFS, Insurance, and Tax
  • Ensure all necessary approvals are obtained in line with negotiation outcomes, and share lessons learned with teams handling similar projects
What You Bring
  • University degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in diverse finance roles, such as commercial project management, project controlling, or accounting—including project financing, accounting, and reporting principles
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in commercial bid or sales management for products, services, or solutions with external customers, including offer preparation and contract negotiations
  • Strong analytical mindset with a results- and quality-oriented approach, sound professional judgment, and proven problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with tools such as Alteryx or Power BI is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in business-fluent English; additional language skills are an advantage
  • Confident in presenting results to management on a regular basis
  • Willingness to travel for business as required by tender processes
