Job summary
A leading semiconductor company in Selangor seeks a procurement specialist to source indirect materials and manage supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, 2-3 years of experience in procurement, and strong negotiation skills. Responsibilities include ensuring timely material supply, preparing KPI reports, and analyzing procurement data to improve processes. The role requires proficiency in SAP and MS Office, as well as a background in electronics or semiconductor industries.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years in indirect procurement or sourcing, preferably in semiconductor or electronics industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Experience in semiconductor assembly/test or electronic manufacturing is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Source and purchase indirect materials and equipment based on production needs.
- Negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms.
- Analyze inventory levels and implement action plans.
- Prepare procurement KPI reports and ensure compliance.
- Manage supplier relationships and development initiatives.

Source and purchase indirect materials, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), and equipment based on production needs.
Ensure timely and sufficient supply of materials to avoid production delays.
Conduct RFQs, RFPs, and negotiations to secure favorable terms.
Analyze inventory levels and implement action plans to prevent excess or aging stock.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted support during production volume changes.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
Prepare weekly/monthly procurement KPI reports.
Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and industry regulations.
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers.
Conduct supplier qualification, performance reviews, and compliance checks.
Maintain positive relationships while resolving performance issues.
Drive supplier development initiatives and manage risk.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings.
Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities.
Support annual price negotiations and contract renewals.
Implement cost-reduction initiatives and leverage spend across categories.
Maintain accurate purchasing data in SAP systems.
Analyze procurement data to identify savings and improve processes.
Partner with internal departments (Engineering, Production, Facilities, IT, HR, Finance) to understand needs and deliver solutions.
Communicate supplier updates and decisions to management.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Science or related field.
Experience: 2–3 years in indirect procurement or sourcing (preferably in semiconductor or electronics industry).
Skills: Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Proficiency in SAP systems, MS Office. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Vendor management and compliance knowledge.
