Job summary
A recruitment company in Penang is looking for a Human Resource Associate to assist with compliance support, recruitment, and HR administration. The ideal candidate has a diploma in HR, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of Malaysian labor law. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to HR processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year relevant working experience in HR is an advantage.
- Well versed with Malaysian Labour Law and Employment Act.
Responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring HR practices comply with local labor laws.
- Manage the recruitment process including sourcing and screening candidates.
- Help maintain accurate employee records.

Overview
Job Openings Human Resource Associate (Compliance & Recruitment)
Responsibilities
- Compliance Support:
- Assist in ensuring HR practices comply with local labor laws and company policies;
- Prepare, update and maintain HR policies, procedures, related agreements (Service Level Agreement, Freelance Agreement & Non Disclosure Agreement)and employee handbooks;
- Support the preparation of reports and documentation for compliance purposes;
- Assist with research on employment law and related agency updates and provide input for internal reviews.
- Recruitment Assistance:
- Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing candidate, candidate screening, background screening, scheduling interviews, and onboarding activities;
- Maintain recruitment records and manage candidate databases;
- Prepare job descriptions and employment contracts;
- Communicate with candidates and clients throughout the recruitment process.
- HR Administration:
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring confidentiality;
- Assist with handling employee queries related to HR policies and processes;
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including preparing HR documents and reports.
- Communication:
- Prepare and distribute HR-related communications in clear and professional English;
- Assist with the preparation of presentations and materials for HR meetings or training;
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients on HR matters.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management/Business Administration or its equivalent;
- Minimum 1 year relevant working experience in HR will be an added advantage;
- Well verse with Malaysian Labour Law, Employment Act and other related legislation;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Good communication skills (written and oral) in English & Bahasa Malaysia;
- Good interpersonal skills and able to deal with all levels of employees;
- Initiative, resourceful and self motivation;
- Able to work independently and a team player;
- Applicant must be willing to work at Batu Kawan, Penang.
