A leading Malaysian technology company is looking for a Junior Network Engineer to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in network engineering, familiarity with Cisco and other equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize network performance. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and relevant certifications are preferred. On-call support and occasional travel may be necessary.

Network Engineer (Junior/With Experience)
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure. The role includes configuring and troubleshooting network equipment, optimizing network performance, ensuring network security, and supporting both wired and wireless networks across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, Telephony and internet connectivity.
Maintain and troubleshoot network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
Monitor network performance and ensure high levels of availability and security.
Perform routine network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
Manage IP addressing schemes, DHCP, DNS, and VLANs.
Conduct network performance tuning and capacity planning.
Implement and maintain firewall rules and VPN configurations.
Document network configurations, changes, and maintenance procedures.
Work closely with IT support teams and other departments to provide timely network support.
Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies, tools, and practices.
Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years of hands‑on experience in network engineering or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.).
Experience with Cisco, Huawei, Allied Telesis, Juniper, Fortinet, or equivalent network equipment.
Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools.
Understanding of wireless technologies and site surveys.
Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.) is an added advantage.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent preferred.
