A manufacturing company in Penang is seeking an experienced HR Generalist. The candidate must manage end-to-end recruitment, payroll processing, employee relations, performance management, and training initiatives. Fluency in Mandarin, English, and Malay is essential. The ideal applicant should have a Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in HR operations. This role offers an opportunity to influence HR practices within a dynamic environment.
1. Recruitment & Staffing:
Execute end-to-end recruitment cycles for all blue and Regular staff positions, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local recruitment agencies, educational institutions, and government labor departments.
Conduct new employee orientation to foster a smooth integration into the company culture.
2. Compensation & Benefits:
Accurately and timely process the monthly payroll for all local employees.
Administer employee attendance, leaves, and statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS) and tax (PCB).
Support in conducting local market benchmarking to ensure competitive and compliant compensation and benefits structures.
3. Employee Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, grievances, and disciplinary matters, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Organize employee engagement activities and initiatives to boost morale and teamwork.
Ensure all HR practices strictly adhere to the Local Employment Act and other relevant industrial laws.
4. Performance Management:
Facilitate the performance management cycle driven by Headquarters, guiding line managers on goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback sessions.
Track performance outcomes and support their application in compensation, promotion, and development decisions.
5. Training & Development:
Identify training needs for the factory workforce and coordinate the delivery of relevant programs (e.g., safety, soft skills, technical training).
Maintain training records and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
6. HQ Coordination & HR Administration:
Provide regular HR reports and key metrics (KPIs) to China Headquarters HR management.
Implement global HR projects and policies from Headquarters, ensuring effective localization and execution.
Maintain and update employee records and personal files in accordance with local data protection requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a manufacturing environment in Malaysia.
Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in Mandarin, English, and Malay is mandatory. Must be able to communicate, report, and negotiate effectively with China Headquarters in Mandarin.
In-depth knowledge of Local employment laws, statutory requirements, and HR best practices.
Proficient in MS Office applications; experience with an HR Information System (HRIS) is a plus.
