Company Background

Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of various steel products based in KL & Penang, Malaysia. They specialize in- Manufacturing sheet metal products, supplying scaffolding & deal in various steel products like pipes and plates, complementing their core business activities

As they continue to expand their business - our client is seeking a seasoned and passionate Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead their Sales & Marketing team in KL/ Penang.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive growth strategy that strengthens our market position within the steel industry.
• As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a crucial role in driving sales, building brand awareness, and forging strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Develop and implement a data-driven sales and marketing strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives.
• Lead and motivate the Sales & Marketing team to achieve ambitious sales targets.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities and customer segments.
• Manage and develop strong relationships with key government agencies like SIRIM, MITI, and CIDB to support certification and industry regulations.
• Oversee brand development and management, ensuring consistent messaging across all marketing channels.
• Develop and manage the marketing budget effectively, maximizing return on investment (ROI)

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or any related field.
• Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in the steel manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of success in a senior marketing leadership role
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful sales and marketing strategies
• Strong understanding of B2B marketing principles and practices
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Data-driven approach with the ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable strategies
• Experience in managing and developing high-performing marketing teams.
• Strong understanding of government regulations and certification processes relevant to the steel industry (SIRIM, MITI, CIDB).
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with additional language skills a plus
