Job Summary

To be an integral part of the Risk, Strategy and Analytics team that assists the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer and Group Risk Compliance with analysing and reporting of strategic risks along with on-going governance activities for the Bank. To be a part of a focused team effort that serves the objective of mitigating/managing risks while ensuring the Bank has adequate capital to meet risk needs.

Job Description

• To implement Strategic Risk initiatives.
• Review the frameworks, policies and/or procedures related to Group Stress Test, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Internal Capital Target (ICT) Methodology to ensure adequacy and relevance.
• Facilitate the review of Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) and its monthly monitoring.
• Assess the Bank’s capital adequacy to ensure adequate and effective capital utilization.
• Involvement with Product risk review/assessments.
• Reviewer of the Compliance Self Testing Matrix (STM) and Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) for RSA
• Coordinate the Project Management tasks.
• Provide strategic risk review/assessment on annual budget and business plan.
• Leverage on best practices to ensure the relevant and appropriate controls are in place to support the Bank’s operations and business strategies.
• Attend to all queries/comments with regards to Risk Strategy.
• Perform timely and accurate reporting to internal/external stakeholders.
• Initiate meetings with related stakeholders pertinent to Capital Management, Project Management and other relevant areas.
• To increase the risk surveillance via monitoring of Bank's ICT level.
• Monitor the reporting of the Bank’s risk appetite approved by the Board.
• Develop the frameworks, policies and/or procedures comprising both qualitative and quantitative methodologies/tools to identify, measure, aggregate, manage, monitor, control and report.
• Key team member in managing the ICAAP enhancement plan implementation and merger harmonization efforts in 2025.
• Key member for in reviewing/managing the ICAAP Framework annual updates.
• Key member of the risk and sustainability working group involved in the integration of CRMSA following BNM’s PD guidance.
• Review Stress Test methodology, assumptions and parameters and update the Group Stress Testing Framework annually
• Part of RSA team that assists Finance in managing their comprehensive capital management plan to ensure the Bank’s business activities are consistent with the risk strategy including the risk appetite and policies approved.
• Co-ownership for project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of RSA’s projects
• Involved in the Risk Appetite Statement annual analysis for the Bank
• Key coordinator in monthly KRI dashboard reporting to Management/Board.
• Key coordinator in redesigning and reporting the Quarterly Sector Report presented quarterly to Management and Board.
• Key member in RSA working group in setting annual Sector Limit for business.
• Key coordinator of the BPMB Authority Matrix redesign (Phase 1) and harmonization post legal day 1 with the other banks (Phase 2)
• Involvement in BPMB Authority Matrix review and annual updates.
• Coordinate annual budget, business plan, strategic and tactical support initiatives for the RSA team
• To attend internal/external courses on Risk Management, Project Management, Capital Risk Management, critical and analytical thinking and/ or other related courses.
• To pursue AICB Chartered Banking certification
• Conduct a knowledge sharing session on courses attended.
• Provide guidance and capacity building.
  
  

Job Requirements

• First degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Economics/ Mathematics or equivalent.
• 5 years’ experience/ exposure in Risk Management in financial institutions.
• Well-versed in Capital Management, Basel requirements, and Project Management with significant ICAAP experience.
• Planning and organisational skills.
• Analytical and strategic thinking.
• Able to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, to work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
• Knowledge in risk controls and tools.
