The Senior Revenue Recognition Specialist partners with field and business units (cloud, software sales, and consulting) to ensure compliance with SAP internal revenue recognition policies and IFRS15. Acting within a tiered revenue recognition community, the specialist supports the Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) system, collaborates with the Rev Rec CoE and Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR), and provides guidance during proposal and contract engineering to maximize recognized revenue and maintain current cloud backlog reporting.

• Support the Customer‑facing organization in structuring commercial proposals and contractual documents.
• Enforce compliance with SAP Group revenue recognition policies and internal accounting standards.
• Communicate actively with field teams and finance departments to align on revenue recognition issues, including revenue forecast accuracy.
• Review and approve quotes summarizing the terms and conditions of commercial proposals and/or contracts before release to customers.
• Align with Rev Rec CoE and CFR as appropriate.
• Review cloud, software, consulting and maintenance contracts to ensure accurate accounting and correct revenue allocation timing.
• Prepare accounting memorandums and checklists for complex and large transactions.
• Prepare revenue reallocation documentation and coordinate booking with relevant departments.
• Serve as the first point of contact on revenue recognition matters for internal and external auditors.
• Deliver regular training sessions to disseminate basic revenue recognition knowledge across the field and finance functions.

• Fluency in English.
• Business school diploma or university degree in business administration with finance and accounting/auditing focus.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with senior management, CFOs, sales, operations, finance community, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate a clear, assertive point of view.
• Strategic thinking and problem‑solving ability to provide operational and decision support.
• Thorough understanding of IFRS15 accounting rules, particularly for cloud and software.
• Previous experience with cloud/software revenue recognition is a plus.

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or financial reporting within an IT/technology company or a Big‑four accounting firm.
• Knowledge of basic legal concepts.
• Previous or current employment with SAP is an advantage.
