Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

As a UX Writer, you will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and user-focused content that enhances the digital experience across various platforms. You will work closely with designers, researchers, and product teams to ensure content aligns with the brand voice and guides users seamlessly through their journey. Your role will involve shaping microcopy, error messages, onboarding flows, and more, ensuring that every interaction is intuitive, engaging, and drives product usability. By leveraging user insights and research, you will directly contribute to improving user satisfaction and overall product performance.

What are you accountable for?

Content Development and Management:

• Create and maintain a comprehensive content library and copy system to ensure consistency across digital products.
• Adhere to the company’s voice, tone, and branding guidelines to maintain a unified message across all platforms.
• Regularly update and manage content to reflect changes in product features, user needs, and company messaging.

Crafting Digital Copy:

• Write clear, concise, and user-centered copy for a variety of digital touchpoints, including web and mobile applications, forms, emails, tutorials, notifications, and more.
• Ensure all copy contributes to a seamless and intuitive user experience that enhances the functionality and usability of digital products.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure content consistency across all user interfaces and digital experiences.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, product discussions, and design reviews to provide valuable input on content strategy.

Copy Analysis and Auditing:

• Conduct regular reviews of existing content to identify areas for improvement and enhancement.
• Analyze the impact of copy on user experience, usability, and engagement, ensuring that all content is aligned with product goals and enhances the overall digital experience.

User Research and Optimization:

• Partner with UX researchers to gather and analyze user feedback and behavior data to inform content decisions.
• Leverage user insights to refine content strategies, ensuring content meets the needs of users and optimizes the user journey.
• Continuously optimize content based on research findings, usability testing, and user feedback to improve product performance and user satisfaction.

What do you need to have for the role?

• Proven experience as a UX Writer, Content Strategist, or similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating clear, user-centered copywriting for digital products.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to write concise, engaging, and on-brand content.
• Solid understanding of UX principles and the role of content in enhancing the user experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in content management systems (CMS) and familiarity with basic HTML/CSS is a plus.
• Knowledge of usability testing, A/B testing, and analyzing user feedback to optimize content.
• A keen eye for detail, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all digital content.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• A degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred.
