A management services firm is seeking a Head of Facilities Management (Data Center) in Kuala Lumpur. The role entails ensuring safety compliance, conducting regular inspections, and coordinating safety training for staff. Ideal candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in a shopping mall environment. Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are required, and certification in Safety & Health will be an added advantage.
Prepare safety SOP, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control, and monitor the implementation and enforcement of the safety issues.
Monitoring compliance of ISO 9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 system at mall for landlord audit.
Set the Safety Committee for discussion on effectiveness and efficacy of any measures taken in compliance with Act or any regulations made under the Act.
Enforced Permit-To-Work programmed and ensure tenant and contractors are briefed on safety policies to maintain the tenants, contractors and suppliers follow and comply with the safety laws and regulations requirement.
Set timely safety trainings, emergency response drills and trainings for Emergency Response Team to maintain the competency and ability of handling emergency scenario at mall.
Process of purchasing, distribution, maintaining and recording of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment for mall safety standard.
Set regularly and timely Safety & Health inspection, Hazard Identification and report findings with recommendation for corrective and preventive actions.
Set daily safety observations and inspection and taking immediate rectification of unsafe act/unsafe encountered.
Verify safety and security routines are in place and adhered to mall rules and regulations.
To coordinate and supervise internal and external parties on daily duty.
Maintain a systematic filing system for references and retrieval of important documentation during audit and inspection.
Monitor and identify if any illegal activity inside the mall (include tenant, mall visitor, supplier and contractor) for mall safety.
Minimum qualification requirement Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Building Surveying / Management or related field will be added advantage.
At least 2 years of working experience in shopping mall or related field.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Previous work-related skills, knowledge and experience would be helpful.
Attended Safety & Health Officer Course (SHO) and passed examination will be added advantage.
Pleasant personality with excellent grooming skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize a high volume of incoming jobs.
Ability to demonstrate professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
