A leading technology firm in Penang is seeking an EHS Officer responsible for developing and monitoring environmental, health, and safety programs. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and at least 5 years of experience, including strong communication and analytical skills. Join a team dedicated to ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and improving workplace safety. This position offers the chance to lead important initiatives and projects within the company.
Formación
- Licensed Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Well-versed with OSHA 1994 act and regulations.
- Well-versed with EQA 1974 and regulations.
- Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies (e.g., DOSH, DOE) is an added advantage.
Responsabilidades
- Develop, implement and monitor company EHS programs and policies.
- Drive EHS performance indicators and compliance.
- Act as liaison with regulatory agencies regarding EHS matters.
- Lead the EHS Committee in developing initiatives.
- Responsible for incident and accident investigations.

Descripción del empleo
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor company environmental, health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with government legislation, RBA, and corporate EHS requirements.
- Drive EHS performance indicators, compliance, trends and key focused projects.
- Act as liaison with regulatory agencies, internal and external customers regarding EHS matters.
- Lead the Environmental, Health and Safety Committee in developing EHS initiatives.
- Responsible for incident and accident investigations, facilitate closure of identified non-conformances effectively to eliminate root causes and report to relevant authorities timely.
- Identify and assess foreseeable risks arising from work processes (environmental aspects and health & safety hazards).
- Perform buyoff on equipment, machinery, fixtures, layout, building safety, process safety, chemical safety, etc.
- Coordinate noise exposure monitoring, CHRA, ergonomic and related EHS assessments; follow up on recommendations timely.
- Ensure chemical safety and emergency response procedures are maintained and compliant with legislation.
- Provide advice and information on matters related to environmental, health and safety.
- Ensure internal and external parties’ feedback and concerns related to EHS are addressed.
- Conduct EHS-related training and briefings.
- Conduct EHS onsite inspections on a regular basis.
- Manage EHS equipment inventory, record retention in compliance with Sanmina and local regulatory requirements.
- May support scheduled waste management, scheduled waste monitoring and ensuring scheduled waste compliance with the legislations.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will improve the EHS performance.
- Other duties or ad hoc programs assigned by the company.

Qualifications

- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
- EHS Management Systems (e.g., ISO14001, ISO45001, RBA)
- Risk assessment (HIRARC and Environment Aspect Significant Impact)
- Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies (e.g., DOSH, DOE) is an added advantage
