Preventive Maintenance Planner (Manufacturing)
Asset Management & Maintenance Planning
- Prepare preventive maintenance (PM) plans for all plant equipment based on criticality analysis.
- Schedule maintenance activities by coordinating required resources, including spare parts, manpower, tools, and timelines; conduct maintenance planning meetings as required.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of maintenance plans and equipment history, including work performed, materials used, costs, manpower, time spent, contractors, manuals, brochures, and other relevant documentation.
- Track and document unplanned maintenance activities and breakdown repairs; prepare technical drawings of equipment parts for reference when required.
- Analyze and evaluate maintenance effectiveness, including PM compliance rate, quality of maintenance work, maintenance man-hour utilization, condition monitoring results, and spare parts consumption (fast-moving, slow-moving, insurance, and OPEX items).
- Generate and analyze equipment downtime and stoppage ranking reports; prioritize maintenance actions to address major contributors to downtime and initiate root cause analysis for significant equipment failures.
- Prepare backlog reports, analyze pending work orders, and reschedule maintenance activities based on priority; regularly prepare and update daily and weekly maintenance schedules.
- Monitor and analyze utility consumption (fuel, electricity, air, and water) to improve operational efficiency and yields; recommend corrective actions to supervisors or superintendents.
- Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance reports with analysis and variance explanations.
- Monitor and ensure effective implementation of spare parts management and tools management programs to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure efficient task execution.
- Analyze inventory levels and forecast required consumables and wear-and-tear parts.
- Manage fixed manufacturing expenses related to maintenance, including repair costs, manpower deployment, capital expenditure (CAPEX), and operational expenditure (OPEX).
Machine Knowledge & Application
- Interpret machine designs, technical specifications, operation manuals, and spare parts requirements to support preventive maintenance planning.
- Develop and maintain machine equipment manuals and troubleshooting guides.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Provide technical training and support for maintenance programs and personnel.
- Analyze machine failures using structured problem-solving tools and techniques to eliminate recurring breakdowns.
- Formulate corrective and preventive actions to resolve complex production and equipment issues.
- Detect early signs of machine irregularities and perform basic troubleshooting and corrective maintenance when required.
Project Management
- Provides recommendation of works and estimates.
- Participates in biddings and technical evaluation of equipment.
- Executes project plan based on agreed timeline.
- Effectively monitor project status, evaluates services of contractors prior to turnover to process owner and plant cost effective use of resources and deployment services.
People Management
- Strictly implements administrative policies and guidelines, such as Good Manufacturing Practice and other Quality Systems to promote discipline and proper work attitude to all maintenance personnel
- Identifies training needs and conducts in-house training programs, recommends outside training course whenever necessary.
- Determines the appropriate manning complement and organizational structure for the department.
- Address people concern that may arise in the implementation of management plans, changes and directions.
- Facilitate performance discussion and coaching to employees.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or executive role.
- Strong knowledge of SAP or similar systems, maintenance planning, and asset management.
- Ability to guide and supervise a team in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation maintenance tasks.
- Understanding of food manufacturing regulations, GMP, FSMS, and operational principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills, with the ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision.
