The Senior Systems Administration / IT Engineer will design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure and systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role combines advanced engineering responsibilities with systems administration and IT support tasks, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement of technology services within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in IT engineering, system administration, or network administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft AD/System Security/Management, Linux/Unix, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLAN, routing, firewalls), security protocols, and operating systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory/Azure AD, Exchange, DHCP/DNS, SharePoint.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Ability to read and prepare project documentation and network diagrams.
- Familiarity with ISP‑related technologies is an advantage.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, including willingness to work outside normal business hours, if required.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 kg and to work in a fast‑paced and/or confined environment.

Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise‑level IT infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualization, cloud solutions).
- Implement network architecture including LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Develop and maintain system automation scripts for efficiency and reliability.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
- Prepare High‑Level Design (HLD) and Low‑Level Design (LLD) documentation for internal IT projects.
- Validate technical designs and networking schemes prepared by contractors during implementation.
Systems Administration
- Administer server hardware (maintenance, firmware updates, configuration).
- Manage system software such as Microsoft Active Directory/Azure AD, Exchange/Online Exchange, DHCP/DNS, SharePoint, System Security/Management and Windows Server installations.
- Perform proactive/reactive maintenance, updates, upgrades or IT service changes in relation to Office IT infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and restore IT‑related issues.
- Monitor system performance and ensure backup and disaster recovery readiness.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and monitor security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply remediation measures.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, PDPA, and internal security policies.
IT Support & Operations
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manage user accounts, access control, and security policies.
- Support multimedia, conferencing systems, and telephony (PABX).
- Liaise with contractors and vendors for IT projects and third‑party integrations.
- Contribute to CAPEX/OPEX planning for IT infrastructure and software licensing.
- Research and recommend emerging technologies to enhance IT capabilities.
- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Suggest improvements to IT policies for efficiency.
Other Duties
- Ensure that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.
- Adhered to the Company’s IT and Data Centre policies.
- Maintain an inventory of all hardware and software assets.
- To undertake any other ad‑hoc duties and responsibilities that the Management assigns from time to time.
