Functional Description
The Network Specialist will perform Technical Professional Services such as onsite installation and project management for site deployment mainly for Extreme, Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto and other company products.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Instrumental part of network infrastructure team responsible for the network and security infrastructure components.
- Leading the Network / Security services in providing support to 24x7 business operation.
- Leading the support for install, configure network / security equipment.
- Leading the support for network & system and end point equipment for infrastructure security.
- Leading the Team to support and maintain network / security risk and remediation.
- Actively monitor and resolve network activity, Security vulnerability.
- Ensure established operation processes are followed and participate in regular process reviews.
- Leading the support to IT support team in resolving network and security issues.
- Support audit/assessment findings promptly, provide remediation plans and execute accordingly.
- Report and follow up on network vulnerability / incidents till resolution.
- Escalate unresolved issues to management in a timely manner.
- Participate in service standards updates and ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Support project team and vendor in implementing new solutions and enhancements.
- Collaborate with Corporate team on latest technologies to improve infrastructure security.
- Maintain updated documentation and knowledgebase.
Required Qualifications
- Possess at least a Diploma/Degree qualification.
- Minimum 5 years experience working with Cisco/Extreme/Arista Products.
- Cisco Certified (CCNA/CCDA) or Extreme Certified (ECS Switching/Routing) is an advantage.
- Ability to handle Cisco/Extreme project installations independently.
- Willing to perform 24x7 Standby Duties.
- Experience with Network/Firewall/VPN/Proxy/Monitoring/DNS/DHCP/TCP/UDP/Web Infra solutions.
- Familiar with Linux systems and shell scripting.
- Proficient with network packet analysis tools.
- Strong reliability, security awareness, and high-quality standards.
- Experience with Firewall, VPN, and Proxy technical issues.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize incidents and requests.
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented, and proactive in follow-up.
- Team player, self-motivated, eager to learn, result-oriented, and independent.
- Willing to travel out of town if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco Certified (CCNA/CCDA) or Extreme Certified (ECS Switching/Routing) is an advantage.
- DevOps mindset emphasizing automation, reliability, and repeatability.
- Experience in a medical device industry with FDA-controlled environments.
- Google Cloud certifications like Cloud Network Engineer.
Experience and Education
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, with 7-10 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 3-6 years of industry experience.
