Job summary
A cruise line company in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Beverage Operations Manager to oversee daily operations of bars and lounges onboard. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience, strong knowledge of beverage operations, and excellent leadership skills. The role involves staff training, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a cruise ship or luxury hotel setting.
- Strong knowledge of beverage operations, including wines, spirits, and cocktails.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of all bars, lounges, and other beverage outlets onboard the cruise ship.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Train and develop beverage staff to ensure exceptional service standards are met.

- Collaborate with other departments, such as the kitchen and housekeeping, to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
- Conduct regular inventory audits and report any discrepancies to management
- Monitor and control beverage costs to meet budget targets
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new beverage staff
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a cruise ship or luxury hotel setting
- Strong knowledge of beverage operations, including wines, spirits, and cocktails
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field is an asset
