In our Process Automation – Energy Industries (PAEN) team, you’ll work on real projects that keep offshore and industrial installations running safely and efficiently—while learning from some of the best in the industry.

What you’ll do

• Be part of the design and documentation of electrical power distribution systems (HV/MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, drives).
• Actively work in turning customer requirements into practical, compliant solutions.
• Get hands‑on exposure to testing, installation and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers, project managers and suppliers—both in Norway and internationally.

• 1–5 years of experience in electrical engineering for power systems (offshore/industrial or utility) covering parts of: HV/MV (AIS/GIS 5–132 kV++), LV switchboards, transformers (dry/oil), frequency converters, UPS, generator control or 1–5 years’ experience in Electrical Automation where the main focus is on the interfaces between the electrical equipment and Automation system (e.g. IEC 61850, Profinet, ethernet networks)
• A plus is if you have:
• Understanding of multifunction protection relays and how protection fits in a power system; hands‑on relay configuration/testing.
• Understanding of Cyber Security regarding electrical systems.
• BSc/MSc in Electric Power Engineering / Automation or equivalent. (Relevant experience may meet the requirements for candidates without the required formal education)
• Proficiency in Norwegian and English (spoken and written), a collaborative mindset, commercial awareness, and eagerness to learn.

The position will be located in Bergen /Kokstad.

ABB Norway PAEN (Process Automation and Energy Industries) is involved in projects delivering electrical equipment and advanced control systems covering a broad field of applications, such as the oil and gas industry, subsea electrical systems, power from shore to oil installations, offshore wind, hydro power plants, onshore and offshore fish farms, and more.
