Business Development Representative (Remote) – Cape Town.
An exciting opportunity exists for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative with experience in the FIBC packaging industry.
This remote-based role is ideal for candidates residing in Cape Town and involves servicing clients across Western Cape.
The successful candidate will focus primarily on new business development while maintaining a select portfolio of existing accounts under guidance.
A strong professional presence, proactive sales approach, and ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.

Salary: R25 000 – R30 000 Basic plus commission, cellphone and laptop.
Duration: Permanent.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience in a proactive, hunter-style sales role, preferably within the packaging or FIBC industry
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to engage clients across various levels
- Ability to identify and close new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organised
- Valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle for client visits and travel (Travel reimbursements apply based on submitted trip reports)
- Remote work set-up with a willingness to travel regularly across assigned regions
- Professional conduct and appearance in line with industry standards
- Prior exposure to clients in sectors such as agriculture, food production, or chemicals would be advantageous (e.g. fertilizer industry)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively prospect, cold call, and network to develop new business opportunities within the FIBC packaging sector
- Identify and engage high-potential clients in industries such as agriculture, chemicals, and food
- Maintain and nurture select existing client accounts under management guidance
- Close sales deals, negotiate pricing and terms and meet or exceed agreed-upon sales targets
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient order processing and on-time delivery
- Gather and share insights on customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity
- Deliver weekly reports on sales activity, pipeline development, and customer feedback
- Uphold confidentiality of sensitive business and client information at all times
