Job summary
A major telecommunications and engineering firm is seeking DTS & GIS Specialists for submarine telco and power cable projects in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves performing desktop studies, designing cable routes, and ensuring customer satisfaction with quality reports. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in DTS, knowledge of marine data sources, and a solid understanding of submarine cable systems. This position offers an opportunity to work with a well-established firm and contribute to significant projects.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in Desktop Studies (DTS) for submarine telecommunication and/or power cable projects.
- Solid understanding of submarine cable route engineering, seabed conditions, marine constraints, and risk mitigation.
- Knowledge of submarine cable systems for telecom and/or power interconnectors.
Responsibilities
- Perform Desktop Studies (DTS) for Submarine Telco and Power Cable Projects.
- Design diverse submarine cable routes that meet stakeholders' needs.
- Support commercial department to evaluate project risk, cost and schedule.
- Lead DTS execution including strategy, performance, quality and safety.
Skills
This role is responsible for performing comprehensive desktop studies to gather and analyze data for Submarine Telco and Power Cable Projects.
- Perform Desktop Studies (DTS) for Submarine Telco and Power Cable Projects.
- Design diverse, secure and practical submarine cable routes that meet all stakeholders needs for telecommunication and power interconnector networks.
- Support commercial department to evaluate DTS project risk, cost and schedule.
- Support contract team to develop beneficial contract terms for DTS projects.
- Lead DTS execution including but not limited to strategy, performance, quality and safety.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high standard DTS reports and counsels to customers.
- Strong experience in Desktop Studies (DTS) for submarine telecommunication and/or power cable projects.
- Solid understanding of submarine cable route engineering, seabed conditions, marine constraints, and risk mitigation.
- Knowledge of submarine cable systems for telecom and/or power interconnectors.
- Familiarity with marine data sources (charts, geophysical data, geotechnical data, environmental constraints, AIS, etc.)
