Overview
The PCB Sourcing Engineer develops and implements sourcing strategies for printed circuit board (PCB) components and materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery, while also managing supplier relationships and mitigating risks. With several years of PCB manufacturing experience, and an excellent understanding of PCB processing from start-to-finish, the PCB Sourcing Engineer acts as a liaison between the company’s PCB suppliers and our facilities. They help to resolve Engineering Questions (EQs) in a timely manner, as well as being a key team member for PCB quality-related concerns.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Identify and qualify suppliers for PCB fabrication and raw materials. Manage supplier development and onboarding. Conduct supplier audits and evaluations.

Be the primary point of contact for EQ resolution on new parts and provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams and suppliers and customers. Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs. Understand PCB design and manufacturing processes and provide input.

Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as single-source dependency.

Manage RFQs (Request for Quotation) and RFIs (Request for Information).

Analyze supplier spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost reduction initiatives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in PCB fabrication required. Experience with PCB customer quality is a bonus.
- Strong knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical) preferred.
- It is advantageous to have a fair knowledge of new PCB processes and manufacturing technologies.
- Knowledge of PCB sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management desired but not critical.
- Knowledge of electronic components and materials.
