Do you have a passion for HR and a desire to make a real impact? Then this could be the role for you

The team/department
The Human Resources (HR) division is made up of a number of expert service teams whose role it is to help the FCA deliver its people priorities. We enable and support leadership through the full employee lifecycle. From attracting talented individuals, welcoming them to the organisation through our induction, helping them grow and develop, listening to their views through our surveys, rewarding and recognising great performance and helping to build an inclusive culture.

What you will be doing

  • Be an integral part of directorate senior leadership teams, driving the delivery of FCA people priorities, ensuring strategic alignment between organisational strategy and local people difficulties
  • Responsible for building long-term strategic relationships with senior stakeholders, contributing to key business aims and building people management and leadership capability
  • Use data and insight to inform decision-making; use People Metrics to inform key insights and develop solutions to key business problems
  • Collaborate with line management and Finance Business Partners to deliver the annual business planning cycle and associated people activity, including guiding workforce planning and change management
  • Utilise the full HR service offer to land interventions to improve people management capability. Provide two-way insight and support to improve HR services and land key people initiatives
  • Engage with confidence to run and implement projects and work programmes using clear and engaging delivery and methodology
  • Consider emerging research and findings that have potential to add value to the organisation
  • Provide input into the controls and mechanisms which support the organisational design and operation of the organisation

What you will get from the role

  • An empowered seat at the table to influence business findings and outcomes, ultimately contributing to the delivery of the FCA strategy and adding public value in your work
  • Opportunity to work as part of a high-performing and impactful HR function which is valued across the organisation
  • Opportunity and support to develop as an HR professional, learning from other senior HR professionals and accessing our suite of opportunities
  • You will enjoy a unique insight into the full spectrum of the financial services industry, with the opportunity to have real impact whilst working collaboratively towards a common goal alongside a range of internal and external stakeholders

Our competitive flexible benefits scheme gives you the opportunity to create a personalised benefits package, tailored to suit your lifecycle. You can use this allowance to purchase additional benefits such as dental or cycle to work or you have the option top up your base salary by taking this as cash.

Core benefits that you will receive as standard are:

  • 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
  • Private healthcare with Bupa
  • A non-contributory Pension of at least 8% of basic salary each month (there are several contribution levels that increase depending on your age – up to 12% a month once you reach age 35)
  • Life assurance of eight times your basic salary
  • Income protection

We support hybrid working which means you will be able to work from home up to 60% of the time over a month with the remainder of your time in one of our three office locations.

The skills and experience you will have

Minimum

We are a signatory to the Government’s Disability Confident scheme. This means that we will offer an interview to disabled candidates entering under the scheme, who best meet the minimum criteria for a role.

  • Previous experience in a generalist HR partnering or similar-level people practitioner role, with a particular focus on organisational change and talent management
  • Demonstrable evidence in fostering strong stakeholder relationships to influence people decisions, and support and improve people management across organisations
  • Proven experience of navigating and applying employment law and other core people practices solving difficulties
  • Experience in utilising quantitative and qualitative organisational data to influence judgements and outcomes
  • Navigate complex organisational structures and dynamics to develop insights and a deeper knowledge of core business strategy
  • Ability to solve complex problems using conceptual and practical knowledge across a range of related HR disciplines
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills at all levels of the organisation to drive outcomes
  • Bring evidence-based perspectives, critical thinking and thought leadership as an HR professional
  • Able to question and influence at all levels with an assured approach to managing conflict and gaining credibility quickly
  • Ability to develop internal and external networks and use these to assist delivery
