DATABASE SPECIALIST

Location: Pretoria East

Total Cost to Company: R700k - R800k per annum

The purpose of the job is to lead the integration and management of digital systems, particularly the SARITA database, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with certification and legislative requirements. The role involves providing strategic support to the Technical Operations Manager, enabling data-driven decision-making through analysis and reporting, coordinating ICT activities and stakeholder engagement, overseeing ongoing system development with Farm Trace, and enhancing value to the scientific community by facilitating controlled data access.

The duties and responsibilities include:

1. Farm Trace Champion
2. SARITA System Support and Training
3. Certification Stock and Courier Logistics
4. Reporting and Analytics
5. ICT Asset and Website Coordination
6. Administration Support

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or relevant National Diploma.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in one of the core disciplines.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), data management, and database systems.
• Demonstrated financial and business acumen, basic statistical and scientific language skills.
• Ideally experience with Power BI, MS SQL, WordPress, MS Forms, MS Sway, knowledge of OHS legislation, potato production, and Afrikaans language skills.
