Position Overview:

As the Chief Safety Officer, you will:

1. Drive the implementation of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies, ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment.
2. Draft, review, revise, and implement SHE procedures that set the benchmark for operational excellence.
3. Ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the organization and its people.
4. Lead by example, taking ownership of all duties and responsibilities tied to this critical role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B Tech Safety Management (Essential/Minimum)
• B Tech (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years’ experience within the Safety Health and Environment field (Essential/Minimum) (Operational)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• MHS Act Reg 2.17.4 Chief Safety Officer (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ideal Candidate Profile (Includes but not limited to):

Ability to:

1. Implement Safety Health and Environmental policies and draft, review, revise and implement SHE procedures.
2. Ensure Safety Health and Environmental compliance to legal and other requirements.
3. Assume the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Safety Officer.
