A leading mining firm is looking for a Junior Mine Planner to assist in developing and maintaining mine production plans. The candidate should possess a diploma in Mining Engineering, 2-3 years of experience, and proficiency in mine planning software such as MineRP CAD and Microstation. South African citizenship and a driver's license are required.

Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation, updating, and maintenance of short-, medium-, and long-term mine production plans, including daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
Develop short-term mine schedules, layouts, and sequencing to support safe and efficient operational execution.
Conduct basic mine design work, including pits, stopes, panels, benches, haul roads, and development layouts using approved mine planning software (e.g. MineRP CAD, Microstation).
Support drill-and-blast design, material movement planning, and production execution activities.
Perform production data analysis to support forecasting, optimisation, reconciliation, and reporting against planned targets.
Assist with geological interpretation, resource and reserve reporting, and reconciliation under the guidance of senior mine planners.
Monitor compliance to mine plans and provide recommendations for improvement and corrective action.
Compile planning reports, drawings, maps, and presentations for management and operational stakeholders.
Collaborate with the Survey, Geology, Production, and Engineering departments to ensure alignment between planning and execution.
Ensure all mine planning activities are conducted in compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, applicable codes of practice, environmental requirements, and internal mine standards.
Execute all work in accordance with prescribed standards, specifications, and best-practice guidelines.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and cost optimisation.
