Our client has established itself as a renowned global chemical manufacturing company.
We are looking for an exceptional Sales Manager who is visionary with a knack for driving growth and innovation, collaborative, and is able to excel in sales management and business development.

The Challenges

Planning:

  1. Develop and propose short- and mid-term plans for the PPS business in SEA.
  2. Conduct weekly, quarterly, and annual sales and margin forecasts.
  3. Support accurate sales forecasting and stock planning.
  4. Set strategic objectives and KPIs for the sales team.
  5. Plan a pipeline of new opportunities based on historic win rates.

Business Development:

  1. Create and execute business strategies for market segments.
  2. Identify and pursue business opportunities with the sales team.
  3. Collaborate with regional teams and HQ to close projects and identify new opportunities.
  4. Support new product launches and sustainable packaging initiatives.
  5. Build a network of external decision-makers in SEA.
  6. Lead the SEA PPS sales team to maximize sales across various customer segments.
  7. Diversify customer base and sales channels.
  8. Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  9. Monitor KPIs to ensure sales and financial objectives are met.
  10. Align sales team efforts to ensure a robust project pipeline and timely closures.
  11. Ensure CRM systems are fully utilized and data is accurate.
  12. Develop and implement pricing strategies.
  13. Engage with Key Accounts and guide account owners.
  14. Manage sales forecasts to balance supply, logistics costs, and stock levels.
  15. Identify value chains and develop optimal sales channels.
  16. Utilize digital sales tools for lead generation and customer insights.
  17. Ensure timely collection of receivables and coordinate payment terms.

Reporting:

  1. Report on performance issues and market trends.
  2. Provide regular updates on business activities.
  3. Ensure accurate CRM data entry and monitor progress.
  4. Compile and present monthly management reports.
  5. Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to the sales team.
  6. Review and adjust organizational setup based on market dynamics.
  7. Identify and address knowledge gaps with training and development.
  8. Maintain team engagement and open communication.
  9. Support talent development for key positions.
  10. Collaborate with regional marketing and management teams.

What It Takes

  1. Minimum bachelor's degree majoring in Sales/Marketing/Business Management or equivalent professional qualification.
  2. Further degree in a technical or market segment related field is a plus.
  3. Minimum of 8 years of sales experience in Printing and/or Packaging industry, including 2-3 years of leadership (direct/indirect) and regional experience.
  4. Background in flexographic printing industry (printers, ink manufacturers, plate manufacturers, tape manufacturers) is a significant plus.
  5. Management reporting, working with Senior Management Levels.
  6. Fluent in English (verbal and written), additional SEA language a plus (e.g. Bahasa).
  7. Strong background and knowledge of the Southeast Asia PPS market and industry trends.
  8. Engineering and/or Chemical background is a plus.
  9. Relevant experience with MS Office suite and CRM systems.
  10. Experience working in a matrix organization is a plus.
  11. Strong sales drive and desire to close the deal.
  12. Strong leadership and people management.
  13. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  14. Analytical and strategic thinking.
  15. Business acumen and commercial thinking.
  16. Result-driven.
  17. Sales skills and tactics.
  18. Intercultural sensitivity and virtual team management.
  19. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive for results.
  20. Ability to deal with change on a frequent basis.
