Job summary
A consulting company in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Content Moderator proficient in Indonesian Bahasa. The successful candidate will monitor user-generated content, approving and rejecting based on customer guidelines. They must hold a degree in journalism or communication, possess 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, and be fluent in both Indonesian Bahasa and Business English. This role demands strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience as a content moderator or equivalent newsroom experience.
- Familiarity with news and media editorial policies.
- Excellent comprehension skills in Business English.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and moderate user-generated and publisher-generated content.
- Approve or reject content based on compliance with guidelines.
- Document nuanced examples among moderated content.

- Monitor and moderate user-generated content, such as comments, and publisher-generated content according to preset customer guidelines.
- Approve or reject content/comments based on compliance with customer guidelines.
- Stay informed about news and current affairs, especially in international markets like the US.
- Identify gaps and gray areas in policies and guidelines based on real-world data.
- Document and store edge cases and nuanced examples among moderated content to create reference repositories.
- Degree in journalism, communication, Indonesian Bahasa, or a similar field.
- 2 to 3 years of experience as a content moderator, social media moderator, or equivalent newsroom experience (print/digital/TV).
- Familiarity with news and media editorial policies.
- Fluent in Indonesian Bahasa, both oral and written, with excellent comprehension skills in Business English.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound judgment calls.
