The Asia Pacific Strategic Sales Manager will support the Controls Southeast (CSI) and O’Brien/Cardinal brands of the Thermal Process Management business unit in the Process & Analytical Instrumentation (P&AI) division.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The Asia Pacific Strategic Sales Manager is responsible for discovering and securing new project opportunities from clients within the Asia Pacific region and/or specific assignments. The Sales Manager must work to strengthen relationships with existing clients as well as seek and develop relationships with new clients. Client engagements will typically be via phone, onsite face-to-face meetings, technical group presentations, and facility operational audits. The individual works closely with the estimating team to establish proposal strategy and prepare for smooth project execution upon award. The Sales Manager must effectively track and update the sales forecast accordingly. Specific duties are listed below:

  1. Identification, training, and management of local ‘in-territory’ sales representatives.
  2. Management of regional key accounts.
  3. Schedule meetings and optimize travel plans based on client engagement and sales potential priority.
  4. Reach out to prospective clients to understand new opportunity potential.
  5. Follow up with existing clients to check on existing system performance and discover new project opportunities.
  6. Educate engineering firms, end users, and system integrators about TPM technologies and collaborate on specifying the proper TPM solution technologies in client project specification documents.
  7. Prepare and execute presentations to large groups of engineering and plant personnel detailing TPM’s technologies.
  8. Consult with client to clarify needs regarding scope of work, project schedule, and project specifications.
  9. Collaborate internally with technical services, estimating, project engineering, and production departments to ensure appropriate proposal strategy and successful execution of a project upon award.
  10. Update all clients on product modifications and enhancements.
  11. Attend and effectively represent TPM at conferences and/or trade shows as assigned.
  12. Maintain sales forecast via judicious management of sales tracking and client management software.
  13. Generate and maintain expense reports for travel-related costs.
  14. Meet/Exceed quarterly and annual booking goals.

Requirements for the Sales Manager, Asia Pacific

  1. Ability to travel at least 50% (typically two weeks every month).
  2. Engineering Degree required. Mechanical or Process Engineering degree preferred.
  3. 5-7 years of experience in refining/petrochemical, semi-conductor or offshore industry preferred but not required.
  4. Strong with writing and verbal communication skills.
  5. Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills.
  6. Demonstrate excellent judgment in business situations.
  7. Maintain client-centered focus.
  8. Effective with asking open-ended discovery questions.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and client management software.
