Job summary
A global investment bank in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Head of Corporate Finance & Capital Markets. This role involves managing origination efforts and executing transactions in ECM and M&A. The ideal candidate will have at least 6-8 years of experience in corporate finance, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and fluency in Business Mandarin. Responsibilities include financial modeling, due diligence, and training junior staff, coupled with a strong analytical mindset and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant CF experience including financial modelling, valuation, and preparation of pitch books.
- Fluent in both spoken and written Business Mandarin.
- Prior Investment Banking experience, preferably having completed deals in SE Asia.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials for origination efforts and execute live transactions.
- Comprise 50% Malaysia Investment Banking coverage and 50% ECM / M&A.
- Train and mentor analysts and interns.
Skills
Education
The Head of Corporate Finance and Capital Markets is responsible for preparing materials for origination efforts as well as executing live transactions. These transactions would include deals in the ECM or M&A space such as IPOs, private placements, rights issues, private capital fundraising, take-privates, etc.
Key activities include presenting findings of research and analysis, due diligence, financial modelling, valuation, assisting with administrative duties (e.g. roadshows, printing reports etc.), as well as preparing documentation relating to various internal and external processes.
- Comprise 50% Malaysia Investment Banking coverage and 50% ECM / M&A.
- Malaysian Investment Banking coverage role based in Kuala Lumpur for primarily Malaysian and Southeast Asia transactions, reporting to Head of IB.
- ECM role for Southeast Asia transactions reporting to ECM Director.
- Maintain credentials and databases.
- Support the senior bankers and broader team as required.
- Train and mentor analysts and interns.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Business/Finance-related discipline
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant CF experience including financial modelling, valuation, preparation of pitch books, review of legal documents and due diligence.
- Prior Investment Banking experience, preferably having completed deals in SE Asia, is a plus
- Ensure data integrity and fact checks on all work undertaken.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to devise creative solutions to problems.
- Fluent in both spoken and written Business Mandarin
- A diligent, responsible person who is eager to learn
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High degree of integrity
- Self-motivated and able to operate independently, drawing from previous transaction experience to hit the ground running
