Create original fashion designs that reflect the brand's vision and appeal to our target market.
Develop sketches, mood boards, and design concepts for collections, with consideration for sustainability in material choice and production methods.
Select fabrics, embellishments, colour palettes, and style for each design.
Collaborate with the technical design team to create detailed tech packs and ensure accurate garment construction.
• Trend Analysis and Research
Conduct market research to identify new trends, fabrics, techniques, and sustainability trends.
Analyse fashion trends and adapt them to the brand's aesthetic; incorporating eco-friendly practices where relevant.
Attend fashion shows, trade fairs, and events to gather inspiration and stay updated on industry trends, particularly those related to sustainable fashion.
Work closely with the product development team to oversee the production of prototypes and samples, ensuring sustainable practices are followed where relevant.
Provide input during fittings and make necessary adjustments to ensure the final product meets quality and design standards.
Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to source materials, including sustainable materials, and ensure timely delivery.
• Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate with merchandisers, buyers, and marketing teams to align design concepts with business goals and sustainability targets.
Present design ideas and collections to stakeholders and incorporate feedback; putting emphasis on sustainable aspects where possible.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with all relevant departments throughout the design and production process.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
You are/have:
• Strong creative vision and the ability to translate trends into wearable fashion.
• Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and quality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work with diverse fabrics and materials, particularly sustainable options.
• Passionate about sustainable fashion solutions, including eco-friendly materials and ethical production methods.
Languages: Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and verbal). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
Education: Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in fashion design with a focus on womenswear. An proven track record of working with sustainable materials and solutions is an advantage.
Technical skills:
• Design software: You’ll be required to have a strong grasp of the Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. CAD tools is a plus.
