Job summary

A manufacturing company in Selangor is seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to spearhead the design and development of innovative retail fixtures. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate market insights into design solutions. The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in Industrial Design, 2–5 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD Inventor. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential.

Overview

As an Industrial Designer, you will spearhead the design and development of innovative retail fixtures, from concept study to fabrication and pilot run. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate market insights and customer requirements into robust design solutions that set our products apart.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop new retail fixtures, from initial concept ideation to prototype creation and pilot run.
• Create robust 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (e.g., Inventor) to visualize and communicate design concepts effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, marketing and sales, to gather design requirements and incorporate feedback into the design process.
• Assist in conducting market research and trend analysis to stay updated on the latest developments in retail fixtures and incorporate relevant insights into product designs.
• Generate innovative ideas for product construction, considering factors such as functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturability.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components that meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to evaluate design concepts, identify potential issues, and propose solutions.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets, delivering designs that meet or exceed customer expectations while optimizing cost and efficiency.

Job Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Industrial Design / Product Design / Engineering.
• Minimum 2–5 years relevant experience (manufacturing preferred).
• Proficient in CAD software, preferably AutoCAD Inventor.
