We are looking for a highly skilled, strategically articulate, and creatively mature Design Team Lead to elevate and execute design work across branding, social media, packaging, and UI/UX projects for both client and internal brands.
This role suits a senior designer who leads by doing and directing. You will not only guide visual direction and mentor the team but also serve as the primary creative voice in project discussions. You must enjoy translating strategy into compelling visuals, managing workflow, and ensuring every outcome is strategically justified and flawlessly executed to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Articulation and Creative Brief Ownership
- Serve as the creative authority: Confidently interpret the client’s strategic brief, articulate the design challenge to the team, and define the clear creative direction and expected visual outcome.
- Provide clear, actionable direction: Set standards for the team, guide the visual approach, and ensure all design work remains aligned with the strategy, brand identity, and the initial creative vision.
- Presentation, Justification, and Client Engagement
- Confidently present creative justifications: Articulate design concepts, rationale, and visual principles with clarity and conviction to both internal stakeholders and clients.
- Navigate feedback and maintain integrity: Skillfully handle client feedback sessions, confidently justifying creative decisions while ensuring the project’s strategic and visual integrity is maintained.
- Hands‑On Design Execution
- Lead and produce high‑level design work across brand identity, social media graphics, packaging, marketing collaterals, presentation decks, and digital assets.
- Ensure every design reflects strategy, brand guidelines, and Brand Soul’s rigorous visual standards.
- Creative Direction and Concept Development
- Develop strong, strategic creative concepts that communicate brand narratives with clarity and impact.
- Translate brand strategy into compelling visuals across both digital and print touchpoints.
- Social Media and Digital Design
- Create high‑quality social media graphics, layout systems, digital ads, and content templates.
- Collaborate with the content team to ensure visual and messaging alignment.
- Packaging and Print Design
- Design packaging artwork and product visuals that meet brand requirements and production needs.
- Work with vendors and printers to ensure colour accuracy and final output integrity.
- UI/UX Advisement and Digital Experience Design
- Provide UI/UX direction and visual recommendations for websites, landing pages, and digital interfaces.
- Collaborate with developers and strategists to ensure designs are functional, user‑friendly, and visually aligned with the brand identity.
- Review wireframes, layouts, and prototypes to maintain consistency and usability.
- Problem Solving and Workflow Ownership
- Identify design issues early, propose practical solutions, and manage revisions with clarity and efficiency.
- Ensure smooth creative workflow through structured task management and rigorous quality checks.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Guide junior designers through hands‑on mentorship, constructive feedback, and active coaching.
- Assign tasks, review work in progress, and collaborate closely with strategists, content teams, and project managers to deliver polished, on‑time work.
- Brand Identity Development
- Lead the development of brand identity systems including logos, visual languages, typography, colour systems, and brand guidelines.
- Ensure assets are cohesive, scalable, and reflective of strategic positioning.
What You Will Need
Experience
- At least 8 years of hands‑on experience in branding, graphic design, packaging, digital design, and UI/UX advisement. Agency experience is strongly preferred.
Technical Mastery
- Advanced skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma, and other industry tools.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX fundamentals, web layouts, component systems, and usability principles.
Creative Strategy and Communication
- Proven ability to articulate a creative brief and provide definitive, clear design direction to a team.
- Exceptional presentation skills: Ability to confidently present and defend design concepts and justifications to clients and internal teams with strategic rationale.
Creative Problem Solving
- Ability to troubleshoot complex design challenges quickly and propose actionable solutions.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Attention to Detail
- Sharp visual eye, strong design discipline, and consistency across all deliverables.
- Excellent command of both English and Chinese (Mandarin), written and spoken, is mandatory to effectively articulate concepts and liaise with our diverse client base and content requirements.
Education
- Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, UI/UX, or related field.
