Job summary
A design firm based in Malaysia is seeking an interior designer to liaise with clients and develop design concepts. You will prepare design drawings, select materials, and ensure projects comply with building regulations. The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in interior design and proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or 3Ds Max. This role offers the opportunity to manage multiple projects and collaborate closely with clients and contractors.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, or equivalent design software.
- Strong design sense, creativity, and attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Meet and liaise with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, budget, and project scope.
- Develop interior design concepts, space planning, layouts, mood boards, and presentations.
- Prepare design drawings, 3D visuals, and presentation materials.
- Select materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and fittings according to the approved design.
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and material schedules for construction.
- Assist subcontractors by providing design drawings and necessary information.
- Liaise with clients throughout the design and implementation stages.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other consultants.
- Attend site meetings and monitor progress.
- Handle design revisions based on client feedback.
- Ensure designs comply with building regulations and safety standards.
