Job summary
A healthcare institution is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform various blood collection procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent and experience in Phlebotomy. You will handle specimen documentation and maintain the phlebotomy area. Professional ethics and teamwork are essential. The position includes working on weekends and public holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Biomedical Science or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Experience in Phlebotomy.
- Able to work during weekends and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and other specimen collection procedures for patients.
- Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are properly labeled and documented.
- Handle, store, and transport collected specimens in compliance with laboratory SOPs.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the phlebotomy area.
- Ensure proper infection control and biosafety measures during all procedures.
- Provide patient care and reassurance during blood collection.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
- PossessBachelor of Science/Bachelor of Biomedical Science/equivalentfrom arecognized university.
- Experience in Phlebotomy.
- Able to work during weekends and public holidays.
- Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and strong work ethics.
Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and other specimen collection procedures for patients of all age groups.
Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are properly labeled and documented.
Handle, store, and transport collected specimens in compliance with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the phlebotomy area, ensuring adequate stock of consumables and equipment.
Ensure proper infection control and biosafety measures during all procedures.
Provide patient care and reassurance during blood collection to ensure a comfortable experience.
Uphold patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and hospital quality standards.
Assist in ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager / Head of Division.
