Senior Financial Analyst, APAC Regulatory Reporting (Contract)

Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.

The Finance team at RBC Malaysia provides Finance and Accounting support to RBC Malaysia locally, in addition to all of RBC’s businesses in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. The Finance operations in Malaysia is the Centre of Expertise for APAC Finance, providing Accounts Payable, Financial Control, Product Control and Performance Management services. The objectives for Malaysia Finance is to provide First Class accounting services to our stakeholders in Asia Pacific, and to enable onshore Finance teams to fulfil their roles as valued Finance business partners.

The main objective of this role is to provide effective accounting and statutory reporting, that is in line with business objectives to Head Office and Australian reporting requirements.

What will you do?
  • Shared responsibility for preparation of Head Office financial reports
  • Shared responsibility for preparation of Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority Returns.
  • Shared responsibility for preparation of the returns for the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
  • Shared responsibility for preparation of the returns for the Australian Stock Exchange
  • Preparation of all supporting documentation, schedules and reconciliations required in the performance of the above-mentioned reports.
  • Project work as required.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • 2-3 years of experience in regulatory reporting, financial reporting or audit
  • Basic understanding of Capital Markets and Financial Services Industry functions and products
  • Prior experience in shared service centers or global delivery hubs for financial institutions would be an advantage
  • High attention to detail, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Willing to take on new challenges while being confident and self-motivated
Nice-to-have
  • Knowledge of Australian regulatory requirements such as APRA, ABS and ASX returns.
