Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited, is a leading financial services provider targeting the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. SDM focuses on understanding clients' unique needs and offers a range of simple, affordable financial solutions including funeral insurance, education savings, life cover, and personal accident plans. Managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster within the Sanlam Group, SDM emphasizes retail products and group schemes.

What will you do?
  1. Provide financial advice and develop financial plans aligned with the customer value proposition and the fair treatment of customers framework.
  2. Manage key accounts and target markets.
  3. Deliver excellent customer service to Sanlam clients.
  4. Arrange appointments with potential customers within key accounts and markets.
  5. Inform customers and the public about new products.
  6. Develop and maintain knowledge of Sanlam products, staying updated on changes in products or regulations and their impacts.
  7. Ensure ongoing professional development by maintaining CPD credits, qualifications, and accreditations.
  8. Participate in knowledge sharing and training opportunities within and outside the organization.
  9. Report daily activities using relevant technology platforms.
  10. Collect and analyze data for weekly and monthly reports.
  11. Collaborate with the Sales Manager to identify priority areas and plan monthly activities.
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Matric (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • RE5 certification is an advantage.
  • Clear credit and criminal records.
  • FAIS compliance.
  • At least two years of sales or marketing experience.
Knowledge:
  • Sales tactics and approaches.
  • Client service and engagement.
  • Relevant regulatory frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Knowledge of Sanlam insurance products (preferred).
Additional Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma with no experience or Grade 12 with 1-2 years of related experience. Skills include new business and existing business processing, appointment preparation, client liaison, and partnership building.

Ability to optimize work processes, communicate effectively, be action-oriented, and plan and align work activities.
