Job description

Manage the daily activities of an account or as allocated in a manner which meets the company objectives, maximising profits, growing the account, and meeting customer requirements. This involves management from customer service to financials to operational requirements as well as staff within the operation.

Position Info :

Warehouse Manager

Salary : R35000 to R45000 CTC depending on experience

Purpose of the Position :

Manage the daily activities of an account or as allocated to meet company objectives, maximise profits, grow the account, and meet customer requirements. Responsibilities include customer service, financial management, operational oversight, and staff management within the warehouse.

Duties :
  1. Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are known, understood, documented, enforced, and maintained.
  2. Optimize storage of stock through maximum utilisation of space (ABC).
  3. Conduct daily cycle counts to maintain high stock accuracy with minimal losses.
  4. Perform stock takes as per company and customer requirements.
  5. Check and put away all stock daily.
  6. Compile, analyse, and report on all required reports to senior management periodically.
  7. Act on report analysis to improve operations.
  8. Maintain WIP reports and PODs.
  9. Support timely and accurate order planning, picking, and dispatching according to SOPs.
  10. Manage master data including product and delivery point master files.
  11. Maintain high service levels and manage customer expectations.
  12. Establish and maintain an organisational structure with adequate staffing, recruiting capable staff as needed.
  13. Implement succession planning within the operation.
  14. Drive staff skills development through training and initiatives.
  15. Maintain HR and payroll records (job profiles, competencies, appraisals, wages).
  16. Implement and maintain QMS procedures within the operation.
  17. Raise NCRs/NCPs/IOs daily and motivate staff to use these systems for continuous improvement.
  18. Manage QMS targets and objectives.
  19. Maintain health and safety standards in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  20. Effectively manage and maintain budgets.
  21. Control costs within the operation to ensure minimum expenditure.
  22. Review and provide input on monthly operating expenses.
  23. Minimize and aim to eliminate overtime costs.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience :
  • Matric qualification.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in warehousing with management responsibilities for at least 3 of those years.
  • Experience in 3PL warehouse and distribution is preferred.
  • Proficiency with WMS systems such as JH, SAP, Oracle, etc., and inventory management.
  • Understanding of budgets and financial principles.
  • Knowledge of warehousing, stock control practices, and SOP adherence.
  • Familiarity with HR and IR regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of packaging standards for warehousing/distribution.
  • Understanding of warehouse layout, ABC calculations, and inventory positioning techniques.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act 1993 and ISO 9001 standards.
