Job summary
A multi-disciplinary engineering firm in Johor is seeking an experienced Inspector of Works on a contract basis. In this role, you will oversee construction quality and safety, conduct inspections, and coordinate with project teams. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and has at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are crucial, along with registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Immediate starters preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as Inspector of Works or similar role.
- Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as Inspector of Works.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality.
- Identify and address non-conformities or defects promptly.
- Coordinate with contractors and project managers to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities and quality control measures.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance to the construction team.
- Collaborate with the management team to mitigate risks.

M.E.I. Consultants Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Inspector of Works to join our team on a contract basis in Johor. As an Inspector of Works, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects, contributing to the successful delivery of our client's objectives.
- Conducting regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality
- Identifying and addressing non-conformities or defects promptly
- Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and project managers to resolve issues
- Maintaining accurate records of site activities, inspections, and quality control measures
- Ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Providing technical guidance and support to the construction team
- Collaborating with the project management team to address and mitigate risks
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Inspector of Works or in a similar construction role
- Immediate starters are highly preferred
- Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as Inspector of Works (IOW)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively
