Job summary

A multi-disciplinary engineering firm in Johor is seeking an experienced Inspector of Works on a contract basis. In this role, you will oversee construction quality and safety, conduct inspections, and coordinate with project teams. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and has at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are crucial, along with registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Immediate starters preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Inspector of Works or similar role.
  • Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as Inspector of Works.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality.
  • Identify and address non-conformities or defects promptly.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project managers to resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities and quality control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to the construction team.
  • Collaborate with the management team to mitigate risks.

Inspector of Works – Contract

M.E.I. Consultants Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Inspector of Works to join our team on a contract basis in Johor. As an Inspector of Works, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects, contributing to the successful delivery of our client's objectives.

What you’ll be doing
  • Conducting regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality
  • Identifying and addressing non-conformities or defects promptly
  • Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and project managers to resolve issues
  • Maintaining accurate records of site activities, inspections, and quality control measures
  • Ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Providing technical guidance and support to the construction team
  • Collaborating with the project management team to address and mitigate risks
What we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Inspector of Works or in a similar construction role
  • Immediate starters are highly preferred
  • Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as Inspector of Works (IOW)
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively
