A leading agriculture company in Kuching, Malaysia is seeking an experienced accountant to manage full accounting functions, lead budgeting processes, and ensure compliance with local standards. Candidates should hold a degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 5 years of experience in a senior role. Key skills include proficiency in accounting software, advanced Excel capabilities, and strong leadership qualities. Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience in a senior role.
- Experience in property development, construction, or hospitality industries is an added advantage.
- Deep understanding of MPERS and Malaysian income tax.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions including GL, AR, and AP.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against budgets.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory reports.

- Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions (GL, AR, AP, reporting).
- Review monthly management accounts and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with MPERS, internal accounting policies, and reporting deadlines.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor actual against budget performance and prepare variance analysis.
- Support management in identifying cost‑saving or efficiency opportunities.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory reports, tax filings, and SST returns.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and relevant authorities.
- Maintain comprehensive audit trails and documentation.
- Supervise Accounts Executive and Accounts Assistant in daily operations.
- Review work output, provide guidance, and ensure process compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows and system efficiency.
- Work closely with operations, project, and HR teams to help them understand and use financial information effectively.
- Assist in conducting feasibility studies and performance analysis for management review.
- Contribute to decision‑making through reliable financial interpretation.
- Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA preferred).
- At least 5 years’ experience in senior role.
- Experience in property development, construction, or hospitality industries is an added advantage.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft 365.
- In-depth understanding of MPERS, Malaysian income tax and SST.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills for financial reporting and review.
