Job description

The individual will provide leadership to the IT Infrastructure Projects Delivery capability of Great Eastern. The individual will be part of the core team that will drive the IT Infrastructure strategy and execution of projects in traditional, cloud, and hybrid environments. The individual will be assigned a portfolio of Infrastructure projects, ensuring successful and timely delivery of the projects under the infrastructure function. The individual will require to enforce good project management and compliance to Great Eastern IT project governance and processes.

Providing leadership to the Infra Project department and guide junior project managers and project teams.

Establish and enforce project governance, standards, and best practices.

Lead and oversee complex, multi-phase projects with significant business impact, ensuring projects are delivered within scope and timelines with the resources allocated.

Define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria aligned with strategic goals.

Track project milestones and highlight project risks promptly to PSC and senior management.

Ensure alignment with internal PMO standards and comply with PMO processes.

Manage internal business and other stakeholders to understand and analyze business requirements, translating business IT requirements into technical requirements.

Coordinate and bridge between vendors and internal teams for troubleshooting of issues and post-mortem activities.

Work out full-scaled and precise proposal with technical solution team and presentation to management for approval

Work with various governance functions and stakeholders within the Great Eastern organization in the areas of project risks management and procurements.

Proactively identify risks, interdependencies, potential roadblocks, and recommending solutions.

Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks

Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.

Highlights any potential concerns/ risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

We are looking for people who

A bachelor’s degree in computer science / IT, or diploma in a relevant field.

10+ years in leadership experience, successfully managing and deployment of infrastructure projects.

Advanced project management skills with strategic planning and program management capabilities.

Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Understanding of various Software Development Lifecycle and Project Management methodologies.

Experience and knowledgeable in enterprise architectures and technologies for network, servers, database, storage and middleware.

Planning and organizational skills for undertaking team leadership and BAU workload management.

Self-driven with a positive attitude and strong leadership skills to champion for culture change management initiatives within IT and with interfacing Business stakeholders.

Strong and factual communication skills and able to manage situations/conflicts and influence others.

Ability to communicate Project Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies clearly.

Good analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving. Team player who can lead in brainstorm session with peers to problem solve and make decisions.

Experience working with multiple internal and external teams (business and IT)

Ability to coordinate complex troubleshooting and post-mortem activities across teams and vendors.

Proven ability to deliver projects successfully in complex, fast-paced environments.

Must have Project Management Certifications (PMP or PRINCE); Industrial certification (ITIL) is an advantage.

Experience of Technology Infrastructure vendors, and associated product/service offering and industry technology trends as well as IT security, Risk Management and Security Control will be an advantage.

Ability to understand business processes and financial functions are a plus.
