Job description

Accounting Responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions (GL, AR, AP, reporting).
• Review monthly management accounts and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with MPERS, internal accounting policies, and reporting deadlines.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
• Monitor actual against budget performance and prepare variance analysis.
• Support management in identifying cost‑saving or efficiency opportunities.

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory reports, tax filings, and SST returns.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and relevant authorities.
• Maintain comprehensive audit trails and documentation.

Team Supervision & Process Improvement

• Supervise Accounts Executive and Accounts Assistant in daily operations.
• Review work output, provide guidance, and ensure process compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows and system efficiency.

Business Partnering

• Work closely with operations, project, and HR teams to help them understand and use financial information effectively.
• Assist in conducting feasibility studies and performance analysis for management review.
• Contribute to decision‑making through reliable financial interpretation.

Job Requirement

Education

• Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA preferred).

Experience

• At least 5 years’ experience in senior role.
• Experience in property development, construction, or hospitality industries is an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft 365.
• In-depth understanding of MPERS, Malaysian income tax and SST.
