Job summary
A leading materials company based in Penang is seeking an IT Software Engineer to develop and support ERP systems and smart manufacturing SCADA systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3–5 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include troubleshooting system issues, collaborating with users, and preparing technical documentation. Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required to communicate effectively with clients.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in ERP system development, implementation, or support within the manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing ERP systems and digitalization projects.
- Familiar with databases, system integration, and basic manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support ERP systems to ensure stable and efficient business operations.
- Provide maintenance and technical support for Smart Manufacturing SCADA systems.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and business users to gather requirements and implement system enhancements.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support system integration between ERP, SCADA, and other manufacturing systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, system specifications, and user manuals.
- Participate in system upgrades, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Knowledge or experience in SCADA systems and smart manufacturing environments is an advantage.
- Familiar with databases, system integration, and basic manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
