Job description
Primary Position Objective
  • To deliver designated projects within agreed timeframes and budget.
Role Impact
  • Control of project costs

Functional Management
  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of project activities to ensure delivery of project outcomes within budget and timelines.
  • Responsible for the effective management of the Development function for PTP.
Budget and Expense Management
  • Responsible for the effective management of project costs, through effective control of project activities and timelines.
Resource Management
  • Responsible for identifying, allocating and managing adequate resources, including appropriately leading skilled staff, equipment, contractors etc. for the efficient delivery of project outcomes.
Risk Management
  • Responsible for the ongoing review of project requirements and the timely identification of risk that may result in increased costs or delayed delivery of outcomes.
  • Responsible for identifying appropriate risk management strategies for minimizing risk to the business.
Stakeholder Management
  • Responsible for ensuring the required level of liaison and consultation takes place, as required, with internal and external clients, government agencies and consultants.
  • Develops and manages IT agenda to support the company’s business objectives through IT Business Partner.
Contractor Management
  • Responsible for the effective management of contractors and on‑site activities when working on site.
  • Responsible for the effective conflict resolution in the event of issues or conflicts arising from project activities and non‑compliance of contract requirements.
Contract Management
  • Responsible for ensuring agreed work standards and outcomes are delivered as detailed within of infrastructure and equipment contracts.
  • Assessment of contractual claims and recommendation for Approval.
Administration
  • Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and execution of the project, actively participating in all phases of the project life‑cycle, including contracts, plans, procedures, financial documents and all other project related documents.
Reporting
  • Responsible for transferring business needs into achievable deliverables.
  • Responsible for regular reporting to Senior Management of project progress, including performance within budgeted requirements and agreed timelines.
Safety Compliance
  • Responsible for ensuring all safety standards are complied with throughout the project, by PTP staff, contractors and other appropriate stakeholders, as identified through the life of the project.
Compliance
  • Responsible for ensuring projects activities and outcomes comply with all required Legal and statutory requirements.
IT Policies and Information Security
  • Responsible for the implementation of Information Security (IS) and IT policies with regards to the protection of the organisation’s information and assets.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or computer related studies / PMP Certification / Prince 2 Practitioner / Six Sigma Lean Practitioner.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in managing complex projects and working with multi‑functional teams. Proven experience in the implementation of Black Belt standards within a multi‑functional organization.
