The purpose of this role is to manage underwriting activities and P&L responsibility for Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) & Retail segments, including digital products underwriting and manual underwriting of new products. This role involves building relationships with intermediaries, ensuring quality underwriting services, and contributing to product development and innovation across multiple distribution channels.
Your New Role :
- Manage underwriting activities across multiple distribution channels.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in product development, innovation, and testing.
- Participate in relevant meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines and policy changes, recommending changes to company policies and procedures where appropriate.
- Establish and promote the company image with key clients.
- Evaluate risk for new business and renewals to ensure profitable growth.
- Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimise risks and maximise efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of channel strategic plans.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, internal audit, and other governance and compliance requirements.
About You:
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Working experience in the insurance industry.
- Use of risk profiling and pricing tools and loss models.
- Established customer and broker relationships.
